Lately, I have been trying to take life “one day/one step at a time” and not stretch too far into the future. With that said, I know the future, while not completely promised, is sure. The world is not likely to end anytime soon. Tomorrow will come whether you and I are alive to see it or not. The seasons of life will change – fall will follow summer, sunshine will follow rain, and day will follow night. We must plan accordingly.
Needless to say, the various pandemics of the past 6 months have taken their financial toll on PAUMC as they have on almost everything else. We have our work cut out for us as we seek the way forward, and it will not be easy.
Today, we begin our stewardship campaign centered around the theme “Beyond 2020: Building Our Future”. I am asking you to make a faith-filled financial commitment for next year so that the ministries you and others receive can be sustained. No amount is too small, and every dollar will make a difference. If you have been blessed (and continue to be blessed) by the offerings of this ministry—fellowship, community, worship, service, spiritual nurture, love, etc.—please help.
I know how difficult it can be to make a commitment like this amid so much uncertainty. We are all feeling it. But the church has never been more necessary, in my opinion, as people face the spiritual, emotional, and psychological impact of our time.
Rest assured that PAUMC is available for you, and I am available. Please do your best and, if circumstances change, we will work through it together. This is my promise, and it can be trusted.
The campaign will be ongoing, but if you can declare your financial commitment by Sunday, October 18th, we will be able to set a responsible budget for 2021.

Grace and peace,
Pastor Cathy
